We receive donations through PayPal, eBay, and other technology platforms and make grants to our donors' recommended charities. There are no monthly or set-up fees with donation button payments. PayPal Giving Fund helps people support their favorite charities online. More information on processing fees can be found here. When donors click your Donate button, they complete their donation on the PayPal site. Please note: GiveWell itself does not charge any fees when taking donations for the support of our recommended charities, but PayPal charges standard credit card processing fees. Donation pages typically have a platform fee in addition to standard transaction rates for credit or debit cards. US and Dutch donors are able to take tax deductions for donations to GiveWell to the extent permitted by local tax laws. PayPal charges 2.9 + 30 cents (1.99 + 49 cents for registered nonprofits) and does not offer the option to have your donor cover processing fees. I plan to only have 1 paypal acct and am hopeful that the donate ID button will designate which section (or donate button) that the donor contributed.
